THE IGNORANCE OF RACISM
Racism was born with humans. Racism is with with us every second. Racism is a constant of human life, it has been present since the dawn of time and it represents a current form of violence. From our point of view racism is just the scare of knowing and mixing with new cultures. This wall won't be destroyed if anyone of us continues to have prejudices about other races and continues to see only the bad sides of a culture. Racism is a word that will never be deleted from our dictionaries because even though the world will mix, even though we will take advantage of all the technological possibilities to get in touch with everybody, prejudices will never be suppressed. We should all realize that on earth there is only one race: the human race; differences are the beauty of this world and we have to know every human being has the right to freedom and no one can decide who is better or who is worse: we are all equal.

Shylock’s soliloquy
When the news arrives that Antonio, the merchant of Venice, has lost all his money at sea, his friends ask Shylock what the sense is of wanting a pound of his flesh. In his famous soliloquy he explains why…: he has suffered years of abuse from Antonio…..why should he not take revenge now?
“He hath disgraced me, and hindered me half a million, laughed at my losses, mocked at my gains, scorned my nation, thwarted my bargains, cooled my friends, heated mine enemies; and what's his reason? I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?
If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge. The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction."
